What the publisher says
As described on Microsoft Marketplace.
Turn every patient conversation into a chance to get better.
Whetstone reads the encounter transcript your ambient AI scribe already produces and scores the quality of clinician–patient communication on every visit — then gives each clinician clear, private, evidence-based feedback the moment their note is ready. No new devices, no recordings to upload, no change to the way clinicians already work.

From there, feedback becomes training. Clinicians can open a deep-dive analysis of the full encounter and move straight into targeted practice: educational modules and simulated-patient AI role-play that rehearse the exact behaviors their scores flag. Every score and every lesson is anchored to 30+ published, evidence-based communication frameworks, from motivational interviewing to delivering serious news. Also, clinicians earn up to 20.0 AAFP CME Credits.
Health systems measure nearly every clinical skill — except the conversation. Yet communication failure is a factor in roughly 30% of malpractice claims, driving 7,000+ claims and $1.7B in losses over five years, at an average of about $237K per claim (CRICO Strategies). Patients are about twice as likely to follow their treatment plan when their clinician communicates well (DiMatteo), and clinician communication is a leading driver of HCAHPS scores, which feed Medicare value-based payments. Whetstone makes this invisible skill visible, measurable, and coachable — system-wide.
Whetstone is built for health systems. Individual feedback is private to the clinician by default; leadership sees de-identified aggregates only. Coaching data lives outside the medical record as professional-development data. Hosted in Microsoft Azure, HIPAA-ready with a signed BAA. Deployment is a configuration step, not an IT project.
Built for chief medical officers, quality and safety leaders, risk management, patient-experience teams, and GME leaders at health systems using Microsoft Dragon Copilot.
Requires an active Microsoft Dragon Copilot license. Priced per user; final pricing depends on the plan and number of licensed clinicians.

Confirmed means matched to a public authoritative registry. Claimed means the vendor or its listing states it, not yet cross-checked. A framework not shown was not found in any source we hold, which is not evidence against it. Not listed means a scoped registry check found no match for this vendor's domain: a No is a scoped registry check, not a compliance judgment. Confidence bands: 95% domain-verified, 90% registry-checked, 80% self-attested, 70% weak signal. Self-attested items marked “vendor's site” are gathered from the vendor's own website and are not verified by us.

Unknown means this listing does not publish a repository. It is not a statement that the code is closed, and a linked repository is not a claim that the publisher wrote it: the registry computes that relationship privately and does not publish it.
Evidence risk is the share of the build you cannot see before you deploy, not a security rating. Sign in to see the layer-by-layer basis for this band.
