Su tecnología está basada en el análisis cuantitativo
de la textura de la imagen de fondo de ojo obtenida mediante una
retinografía ocular.
Con solo analizar y clasificar imágenes, quantusGL determina la probabilidad de presentar glaucoma en pocos minutos.
quantusGL ha sido diseñado con un claro enfoque en la
población general y pretende ser una herramienta de detección de
glaucoma, siendo de gran ayuda en el cribado de pacientes con factores
de riesgo y priorización de listas de espera. Las posibilidades de
utilización del producto serán diversas, yendo desde un despacho médico
en atención primaria hasta la unidad de oftalmología u optometría. El
especialista, siempre entrenado, clasifica las imágenes mediante unos
patrones visuales y quantusGL da un porcentaje de riesgo de presencia de
glaucoma.
