Launch this AMI like any other EC2 instance, connect over SSH as `ec2-user`, and you're already running with Fail2ban active and automatic security updates enabled - no post-launch configuration required. Hourly usage is billed automatically per instance-hour, with no upfront charge to refund. Annual upfront commitments qualify for a pro-rated refund within 14 days of purchase, based on unused time.
