What the publisher says

As described on AWS Marketplace.

**The challenge**

The UK Public Sector’s reliance on legacy .NET applications and VMware estates often results in inflated operational costs and security vulnerabilities. Attempts to tackle the technical debt often result in long, complex projects requiring extensive manual effort.

**The solution**

This offering combines our tried and tested expertise with AWS, Public Sector and AWS Transform to significantly accelerate the modernisation of mission-critical IT services. It promotes the continued operation of services to adhere to availability requirements and security and compliance frameworks. We offer 2 significant wins as part of this offering.

Firstly, using AI-powered AWS Transform, Version 1 can power automation of code and infrastructure modernisation, at scale and at speed, reducing manual effort by up to 70%, across the following use cases.

  • Upgrading of legacy Microsoft .NET applications to cross-platform versions, reducing OS licensing costs and increasing security
  • Migration of on-prem VMWare workloads to AWS, through discovery, planning and transformation of compute, network and storage to native AWS services. Dedicated AWS migration services ensure that migration of workloads are tested and tracked according to organisational priorities
  • COBOL mainframe modernisation, to improve agility, cost-efficiency and resilience of mainframe applications as they are refactored and decomposed into modern Java

Secondly, we can take these modernised assets and use our AWS experience to deliver well-architected AWS-native workloads. We can ensure modernised workloads are correctly designed, built, tested, deployed and monitored, consistent with a defence-in-depth security approach and established Public Sector frameworks and standards.

**The result:** AWS-native infrastructure and applications built on the priorities and requirements associated with regulatory compliance (e.g. Data Protection Act 2018), standards (e.g. GOV.UK service standards) and security controls. Operational costs are significantly reduced as modernised workloads are easier to maintain and change in response to organisational, regulatory and technical requirements.

**Why Version 1?**

Version 1 has extensive experience across many Public Sector organisations. We have worked within multiple government departments, delivering solutions founded on embedding data privacy and sovereignty principles.

We have migrated thousands of mission-critical, Public Sector workloads. These have directly contributed to strategic outcomes for government, addressing the need to reduce cost and risk, while delivering secure, compliant and scalable citizen services, that confirm to Public Sector standards.

Confirmed means matched to a public authoritative registry. Claimed means the vendor or its listing states it, not yet cross-checked. A framework not shown was not found in any source we hold, which is not evidence against it. Not listed means a scoped registry check found no match for this vendor's domain: a No is a scoped registry check, not a compliance judgment. Confidence bands: 95% domain-verified, 90% registry-checked, 80% self-attested, 70% weak signal. Self-attested items marked “vendor's site” are gathered from the vendor's own website and are not verified by us.
