Overview

Goose AI Agent for Automating Development Cycle delivers Goose, the popular open-source, on-machine AI agent, as a turnkey cloud virtual machine. Goose does not just suggest code; it takes action: it reads and edits files, runs commands and tests, executes multi-step plans, and connects to your tools and repositories through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP). This image installs and hardens everything for you, so a fully working agent environment is available minutes after launch instead of after hours of per-developer setup.

Out of the box, the VM includes the Goose CLI, a password-protected browser terminal so anyone on the team can reach an interactive agent without installing anything, and the runtimes that Goose extensions rely on (Node.js and uv). It is hardened for production with SSH key-only access, a host firewall, fail2ban, and automatic security updates. You bring your own LLM provider key (Anthropic Claude is recommended), keeping full control of cost and data.

Three ways to use it: (1) Interactive — open the browser terminal or SSH in and ask Goose to complete a task; (2) Headless — call "goose run" for one-off jobs and pipe results into scripts; (3) Automated — package proven workflows as reusable Recipes and trigger them from CI/CD, webhooks, or built-in scheduled jobs so routine engineering work happens on its own.

Who benefits

Software development and platform/DevOps teams, engineering managers, and individual developers who want to offload repetitive lifecycle tasks to an AI agent. It is especially useful for teams that want a shared, always-on automation host rather than asking every engineer to install and configure an agent locally, and for organizations that need agent runs to happen on controlled, hardened infrastructure with their own keys and network controls.

Customer need it addresses

Modern teams lose significant time to routine, repeatable engineering work — reviewing pull requests, writing and repairing tests, bumping dependencies, updating documentation, triaging issues, and onboarding people to unfamiliar codebases. Running a capable AI agent locally means every developer must install it, wire up the toolchain and extensions, manage keys, and keep machines consistent, and unattended automation has nowhere reliable to run. This offer removes that friction: a single, secure, pre-configured VM that any developer can reach from a browser and that doubles as an automation server, so the team gets the benefit of an AI engineering teammate across the whole development lifecycle without local setup, key sprawl, or inconsistent environments.

After launching, sign in to the browser terminal, run "goose configure" to add your LLM provider key, and start automating. Full tutorials and ready-to-use recipes are provided with the offer.

Confirmed means matched to a public authoritative registry. Claimed means the vendor or its listing states it, not yet cross-checked. A framework not shown was not found in any source we hold, which is not evidence against it. Not listed means a scoped registry check found no match for this vendor's domain: a No is a scoped registry check, not a compliance judgment. Confidence bands: 95% domain-verified, 90% registry-checked, 80% self-attested, 70% weak signal. Self-attested items marked “vendor's site” are gathered from the vendor's own website and are not verified by us.
