MikeOSS is an open source Legal AI from Will Chen ( https://mikeoss.com ). MikeOssAzure fork takes the original idea and implements it entirely within Azure replacing S3 storage with Azure blobs, Supabase auth with EntraID and Supabase replaced by Azure PostgreSQL flexible. It is intended to be a low cost, low friction way to confidently and securely dip your toe in Legal AI without fear that your data is leaving your Azure tenancy. It features flexible model selection, legal workflows, project vaults to bring all your matter documents together and tabular data extraction for mass document review and contract processing.

Now up to date with the upstream open-source Mike project as of 17 June 2026 (previous release synced to mid-May).
New from upstream Mike:
- MCP connectors — connect the assistant to external tools and data sources, per user, with OAuth sign-in where required
- Case-law research (CourtListener) — legal research grounded in real, citable court opinions
- Document version control — tracked-changes versions of documents, with per-version download and preview
- Account data export and deletion — self-service export of your data and full account erasure
- Refreshed interface: redesigned visual style, improved modals, headers and mobile layouts; faster project, chat and workflow list loading
- OpenAI Responses API support alongside Chat Completions
Azure edition improvements (this distribution):
- Fixed: document Download — downloads previously failed on Azure deployments (corrupted file, and in some configurations a backend crash). The download signing secret is now provisioned automatically — including when upgrading an existing install by updating the container image alone
- Stay signed in — silent Microsoft Entra token refresh eliminates mid-session sign-outs
- MCP connectors fully integrated with Azure: OAuth callback flow, connector credentials encrypted at rest via Key Vault
- Install console: global API key management extended with OpenRouter and CourtListener
- PDF viewer stability fixes; case-law citations open directly from chat
- Hardened rate limiting behind Azure ingress; improved diagnostic logging
Upgrading an existing installation: update the backend Container App image to acrmikeoss.azurecr.io/backend:1.0.10. No other steps required - this new version provisions missing secrets on first start.
