Indian Tax API — the missing India GST API layer for Business Central (Pre-release / Early access)
Microsoft's standard Business Central APIs (/api/v2.0/) are a global contract: they do not carry GSTIN, GST groups, HSN/SAC codes, place of supply, reverse charge or e-invoice IRN, and they cannot be extended. Microsoft's India GST localization ships no API objects of its own. So every Indian business integrating Business Central with an e-commerce store, marketplace, e-invoicing provider, logistics system or POS rebuilds the same API layer from scratch.

Indian Tax API is that layer, built once, properly — a set of REST/OData endpoints under /api/ssd/indiantax/v1.0/ with India GST fields as first-class, writable fields. GST is calculated by the standard India localization inside Business Central, never reimplemented, so the API returns exactly what the client shows.
WHAT IT PROVIDES
- Master data (read + write): Customers, Vendors, Items, Locations, Default Dimensions; Indian States (read-only) — with GSTIN, registration type, HSN/SAC codes and GST groups
- Documents (read + write): Sales Orders, Sales Invoices, Purchase Orders, Purchase Invoices — headers and lines in one call, with place of supply, reverse charge and GST group per line
- Document actions: Release, Ship & Invoice, Receive & Invoice, Post — with the same validations as the client
- Posted documents (read-only): Posted Sales and Purchase Invoices with lines, GST amounts, e-invoice IRN and acknowledgement, reverse-charge flags and bill of entry
AI-READY (MCP)
Business Central 28+ includes a built-in MCP server that turns API pages into tools for AI assistants such as Copilot and Claude. These purpose-built API pages plug straight into it, so an assistant can answer questions like "what did we invoice to Maharashtra customers this month?" directly against the live tenant — no extra infrastructure.

1 repoUnknown means this listing does not publish a repository. It is not a statement that the code is closed, and a linked repository is not a claim that the publisher wrote it: the registry computes that relationship privately and does not publish it.
Evidence risk is the share of the build you cannot see before you deploy, not a security rating. Sign in to see the layer-by-layer basis for this band.
