Motif-2-12.7B-Reasoning is a reasoning-specialized 12.7-billion-parameter language model trained from scratch by Motif Technologies. It is optimized for tasks that benefit from explicit chain-of-thought, including advanced math, competition-level problem solving, code generation, logical reasoning, instruction following, and agentic tool use, and is well suited for chat-completion workloads where step-by-step reasoning improves answer quality.
The model is pre-trained from scratch on 5.5 trillion tokens spanning diverse linguistic, mathematical, scientific, and programming domains, and integrates Grouped Differential Attention (GDA) to improve representational efficiency, allowing it to rival the capabilities of much larger models under constrained compute budgets. It supports English and Korean and a sequence length of up to 64K tokens, extendable to 128K tokens via YaRN rope scaling. The model emits structured reasoning traces that can be parsed separately from the final answer (reasoning-model), supports repetition-based auto-stop, and tool/function calling.
